The Highland LGBT Forum is a group of volunteers drawn from the LGBT community. It is independent from any other organisations and aims to organise a variety of events for the local LGBT community where everyone is welcome.

This page aims to be an informative list of groups within the north of Scotland which serve the LGBT community. This includes details of groups and events which are not connected to or organised by the Highland LGBT Forum.

INVERNESS
The following groups meet in Inverness offering support and/or social contact:

• GirlZone - an independent meeting place for gay women, lesbians, bisexual women and friends of all ages. Trans women welcome.
• Highland Rainbow Folk - a working group aiming to raise awareness of issues facing older LGBT people. Monthly meetings - all ages welcome.
• Swans (transgender / transvestite / transexual) - and independent group which meets at the Beaufort Hotel in Inverness on the last Thursday of the month
• The Pink Castle Philosopy Club takes an interest in a variety of topics associated with life and living in the 21st century. Meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in the riverside lounge of the Glen Mhor Hotel (Ness Bank, Inverness). Walks on Sundays are held about once a month. • LGBT Running with JogScotland - jogging group for LGBT people and friends every Wednesday in Inverness
• Pillar LGBT Youth Group (for 16 - 25 year olds) meets in Inverness. Check times/dates on the Facebook page or text 0797 499 6051.

MORAY
The LGBT Moray group has a coffee morning in Forres on the third Saturday of every month and one social night in a pub in Elgin on the first Tuesday of each month (see events page). If you're nervous about coming along, someone can meet you in advance - call the group mobile on 07598418638 or email lgbtmoray@gmail.com. Feel free to bring along a friend for support if you wish. ABERDEEN / GRAMPIAN

PERTHSHIRE
Perth and Kinross G.L.O.W. (Gay Lesbian Or Whoever) is a peer support group for 13-26 LGBT young people with weekly meetings in Perth. Visit their Facebook page. Contact 01738 474580.

ARGYLL / OBAN
Waverley Care is running a new Gateway Group for LGBT people to meet informally in Oban, usually on the last Saturday of the month. Meetings of the LGBT group Kintyre Embrace in Campbeltown are on the first Wednesday of the month from 7-9pm. WESTERN ISLES
LGBT group in the Outer Hebrides - join Out Out West on Facebook. The group meets in Stornoway on the last Friday of the month and also organises outdoor events.

ORKNEY
Orkney LGBT meetings take place on the last Wednesday of the month at St Magnus Centre, Kirkwall from 7-9pm. Everyone is welcome and confidentiality is assured. Contact scott@equality-network.org
