Highland Rainbow Folk
Working with older lesbians, gay men, bisexual men and women
and transgender people (LGBT) in the North of Scotland

----------

Highland Rainbow Folk is a joint working group of Age Concern and Help the Aged in Scotland and Terrence Higgins Trust, working to raise awareness of issues facing older lesbians, gay men, bisexual men and women and transgender people.

We have produced an information booklet for Health and Social Care providers to highlight the issues and raise awareness.
We feel that older LGBT people are often not heard and hope to look at other ways to improve the situation for this marginalised group.
The group is planning awareness-raising courses/training in the future.

On 26 February 2010, the group held a very successful special event for LGBT History Month at Inverness Town House. The event was covered in an article by the Inverness Courier - click here to view.

We hold monthly meetings in Inverness.
LGBT people of all ages are welcome to attend.
